As the sizzlers were at last placed on their mahogany table, a shriek was let off by the sole female member of the group. "Eeeee! This steaks are very bloody! Wah, this lazy cook only cook halfway!"The chef was duly summoned. Puzzled at the commotion he asked, "But didn't you folks want these steaks medium rare?""Er? Why half-cooked, huh?" persisted the one who had raised the alarm.It was at this moment that one of the men in the group suggested to the chef that the steak ought to be well done. The chef obliged and their sirloin steaks landed on their table several minutes later-this time thoroughly cooked.A few bites later, the lady bemoaned, " The beef is so damn hard. Like eating leather! Aiyah! This American cook cannot challenge our Singapore hawker. We've wasted our hard-earned money here!"The chef heard their unsavoury comments and politely told them off."
